Terms of Use — Calido

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Calido. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't sign up.

1. Who can use Calido

You must be old enough in your country to form a binding contract (typically 18, or 16 where the law permits with parental consent).
You must provide accurate sign-up information and keep your email reachable for account recovery.
You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your credentials private. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
One person, one human account. Bots, auto-dialers, and mass-registration are not permitted.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Calido to:

Impersonate another person, organization, or Calido itself.
Harass, threaten, stalk, doxx, spam, or otherwise abuse other users.
Share content depicting child sexual abuse, non-consensual intimate imagery, or any other content that is illegal where either participant is located.
Attempt to break, probe, or circumvent service security, rate limits, or moderation controls.
Reverse-engineer the client in order to bypass signaling, bill our infrastructure, or interfere with calls that aren't yours.
Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, or intellectual-property-infringing conduct.

3. Content on calls

Calls on Calido are peer-to-peer and end-to-end encrypted. We do not record them and we cannot review them after the fact. You remain responsible for what you say and show during a call. Other participants can report you; see Safety & reporting.

4. The service

Calido is provided “as is” and “as available”. We aim for high uptime but make no guarantees. This is a small, single-operator service.
We may change, pause, or retire features. For material changes we will give reasonable notice in-app or by email.
Calido requires Apple's push infrastructure and internet connectivity to work. Carrier charges, Wi-Fi problems, and Apple outages are outside our control.

5. Paid features

There are none. Calido is free. There are no subscriptions, in-app purchases, or advertising. If a future version adds paid tiers, we will update these terms before enabling them.

6. Suspension & termination

You may delete your account at any time; see account deletion.
We may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create safety risk, or expose other users or the service to abuse, fraud, or legal risk.
We may enforce limits (rate limits, message size limits, call length limits) to keep the service healthy.

7. Intellectual property

You keep the rights to the audio and video you transmit. We don't store it, so we have nothing to license. The Calido name, logo, and app are ours. You may describe or link to the app; please do not use our branding in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement.

8. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calido is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied (including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law forbids such limitation, including for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, personal injury, or death.

9. Law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and Germany, the Federal Republic in which Calido's servers are hosted, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply and are not affected by this clause. Disputes may be brought in the German courts or, where the law grants you that right, in the courts of your home country.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top and, for material changes, notify users in-app or by email. Continuing to use Calido after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
